Removing Motor
I'm going to remove the motor on my 1981 EZ-GO resistor cart and send it out for rebuild. Is there anything I need to know before removing the motor? Any tips?

Re: Removing Motor
And it's heavier than you think. Be ready when it slides off the input shaft

Asking more questions on removing motor...
If you have an EZGO with rear seat... 1) Is there any options for removing motor without taking off rear seat ? 2) if rear seat had to be removed, will the motor come out through the access panel? 3) can you just Jack up the cart to remove it from the bottom? Maybe these might help the OP also. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Removing Motor
I use "mule tape" tied up like a dog leash "choker" to use as support straps for lowering motor out the bottom. Rxv motors are real heavy (a "2 strap" job), and rxv motor cables are long enough to allow motor to be put in bagwell area with out disconnecting any big cables.

Re: Removing Motor
I put a rubber pad underneath my cart - with the cart on ramps when I removed mine. I removed it from the top but let it set down on the ground. I wrapped a webbing around the motor to hold it from the top when I removed it.
