Wiring motor speed encoder RXV
Long story but rewired my 2010 to a 2012. After completed, found that ezgo changed the wiring format on the encoder from 2010 to 2012 . I had to rewire that connection with a female so it would connect together. The +5V and/or the negatives of the motor speed encoder and motor temperature sensor may be mixed up with those of the throttle/brake encoders . What I didn't know is that there was a change... no big just need to know the proper connection format. I need to find a diagram of the 2012 to compare the two or the part number of the conversion adapter will allow me to reverse engineer it and make the right connections. Does someone have this information available to share?
Any assistance is appreciated. |

I need to find a diagram of the 2012 RXV to compare it to the 2010 RXV. or the part number of the conversion adapter for the motor connections . This will allow me to reverse engineer it and make the right connections. See above.

Re: Wiring motor speed encoder RXV
Ezgo makes & sells both adapters, the only one I found is the one you DONT need (new motor to old harness, 612259). You need (new harness to old motor). Unfortunately "Shopezgo" is a very incomplete website that conveniently leave lots of parts out.

Are you changing from Danaher to Curtis ? If so, which Curtis controller?

Re: Wiring motor speed encoder RXV
Just rewired the motor encoder. Works fine.
The solution here is when wiring a 2012 and newer main harness wiring to an old motor (ie 2010) is to simply buy a matching female connector to the new harness and color match the wires: MOTOR/CART BLK/BLK WHT/WHT BLU/BLU WHT STRIPE RED/ORG I'll update my old post regarding why I went down this road once I give the cart a few more road/ off road tests to ensure I don't have any further problems. It's really been a long road but some incredible help from the people on this forum has been invaluable. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ontroller.html |
