Default What is the right amount of slack for brake pedal

Getting ready to install my RHOX brake switch and notice a lot of play or slack in the brake rod. Basically, there is a good inch of travel before engagement. Now, I know too tight is not good but I'm wondering if I need to tighten it up a little before I mount the switch. Also, is the slack caused by brake lining wear? If I tighten it now, will I need to release it again when I replace the brake linings?

Hi Greg,
Check out this site. You can get a Service Manual and a Parts Manual for your cart from this site in pdf form for $4.95 each. When you get a project, print out the pages that apply. I already have the one that you will want but it is too large to attach. These the factory service manuals. Get them both as they are very thorough.

Just read the relevant pages and am I the only one thinking that is a strange measure of brake adjustment? Not at all what I was expecting! Anyway, I'll go out and check per the manual and move on.

Thanks!

Just research the manuals you are buying from that site before you spend your money.
I recently bought what was advertised as a 1972 Club car Caroche service manual, and a 1973 Club car Caroche service manual. After I had paid for them, I went to do the download and found it was one manual entitled 1970 to 1973 Club car Caroche service manual.
I have been trying for three weeks to get a refund with little success so far.

Thanks for the warning. I just got both the parts and service manuals for my 2010 and they are for years 2009-2011.
