Angry Re: 99 ds headlight wiring

Ok so I basically hooked it up the way that CTD DREW OUT FOR ME(thanks for that CTD) the only difference is I hooked the 48v neg directly to the #6 battery neg terminal instead of the neg terminal on the controller. Would that make a difference? I'm thinking maybe so because when I got home this evening I tried it just the way CTD suggested and I get no power from the 12v side of the reducer. So I'm thinking I fried it when I hooked it incorrectly yesterday

the controller B- is so the OBC can see what current you are using

Would that make a difference?
no ... it would be on all the time

make sure your key is on and the cart is in forward or reverse

note for people who have a DPI charger with a obc bypass
you can hook up your reducer with out using the controller b-

ok CTD I will try that tomorrow. Not sure if I had key on or in forward when I tried this evening.
So the way I hooked it up the first time when I got the spark with the 48vpos to the #1pos terminal and the 48v neg to the #6 neg terminal should have worked?
It just seemed as if the spark and small pop sound wasn't good

Make sure nothing is on that is supplied (powered) by the reducer. If there is no current flow, you should not get much as the flow should stop inside the transformer.

And it could be just the initial activation of the reducer if it has any lights or signals built on it.
