Bad Battery? Please help me confirm
I have a 2001 PDS 36v with Alltrax XCT500PDS controller. I plugged up my controller and although my cart was not fully charged (it was at 37v), under load at 100% throttle my pack voltage dropped to 32v going up hill.... Does that confirm that I have a bad battery or possibly 2 bad batteries? The cart seems to run fine (this is my first cart so I wouldn't know the difference).... Going up hill the cart is hitting about 12-14 mph sometimes 10mph and flat ground around 25mph on a full charge. Thank you for all of your help

Re: Bad Battery? Please help me confirm
I experienced a similar problem that turned out to be a bad cell in one of the batteries ... but is would only show up after a load was applied (like in your case). Break out your volt meter and take your battery pack voltage. Applied a load to your cart (move forward or reverse) and take the voltage again. Then take the voltage of each individual battery. A bad cell will show up with a battery of 4.x volts instead of 6.x volts. If that happens, to my knowledge, the battery is toast and time for a replacement.

Re: Bad Battery? Please help me confirm
The fact that your voltages are dropping so low tells that you have a battery problem, or another major restriction in the power delivery system. Like a really bad cable, or solenoid. If you drive it around for a bit, then check all the cable ends & solenoid for high heat, you could eliminate them as a major problem. If you have clips for your meter ends, clip them to each battery one by one & monitor for which one drops the most during a driving test.

.csv (Comma separated Values) files are handy at times. The time column in the data logs from the early Alltrax controllers such as the DCX and AXE was in a HH:MM:SS.xxx format, which didn't play well with spreadsheet sort functions. I opened the .csv file with a text editor (something like Notepad) and replaced the ":" with "," using the find/replace function to split the time into three columns of pure numeric values. There was something else that needed tweaking, but I don't remember what it was. The data logs from the latest generation Alltrax controllers load straight into spreadsheets without any tweaking needed at the .csv level. |

While your at it, have a look at Linux. I've started moving towards giving Microsoft the boot from my machines. Windows 10 isn't really your friend if you like any security from hackers & big brother. Plus, I'm still mad about their collusion with chip makers who now build chips what won't even run any prior versions of windows.
