2009 Ez-Go For Pushing Race Car
I am thinking about trading my 4 wheeler for a 2009 ez-go cart. It had new batteries in 2015 us1800 I believe. Other then that it is pretty much stock. This will be used to push my 2600lb race car to and from the staging lanes at the track. The guy that I am buying it from said it did ok with his truck but had some problems if there were hills at the track. From the little bit that I know it sounds like I need an upgraded controller. Obviously my goals here are more torque. I would also like to pick up some speed but torque is priority. I am not trying to spend a ton of money. Also wondering what are the life spans on the battery and how long can I expect out of a charge? How difficult is the install of the controller? Thanks for helping me out

Not a hundred percent sure. I know it has the switch on the dash for forward and reverse and a switch by your legs for the torque setting

I haven't gotten the cart yet. Wanted to come on here And touch base before i pulled the trigger on the trade. That sounds like allot more then i wanted to do. Rally wanted to put a controller on it and be done. Sounds like gas might be a better option

It needs a 500 amp controller, 2g cables throughout, and Admiral high torque B2 motor. Cost you about $1200 assuming you already have good batteries.

It has us1800 batteries that were new in 2015. Wasn't looking to spend that much. Could i skip the motor? And do the controller And cables? That would be what 5 or 600?

Re: 2009 Ez-Go For Pushing Race Car
try to find a RXV w/ 6x8v batt conversion. use stock size tires (no lift/no big tires)
Should have plenty of power to push/pull car on reasonably flat pavement. will also have speed (19mph) to get to end of track in reasonable time. No upgrade needed..... 350 amp controller available for more torque. |

So 350, 400 or 500 amp controller?
Something i can do myself? Where to buy from? I'm prob going to roll with the batteries that are in out until they die |

Re: 2009 Ez-Go For Pushing Race Car
scottyB is the guy to buy from-site sponsor, carts unlimited...
go to his site and read!he has everything explained there-it is like a college online course for cart driveline education...you will have all or most of your questions answered there.... without the motor swap you will prob kill the motor over time. you can allways run it till it dies and get the admiral then-OR... buy a series drive cart-better work horse and way better torque, tougher drive system stock for pushing weight... with the stock motor and a completer drive system upgrade it will fulfill your needs the best... golf carts, stock, are designed to carry 2 people and 2 sets of clubs 100 yards then rest-so all carts are weak for what you are wanting to do...all carts might do what you want but all will fail at some time due to over heating... the series is the toughest -but ALL of the drive system will need to be upgraded... there is no cheap fix for what you want,IF you want a reliable cart... |
