2009 RXV no go

Picked up my cart at it's parking stall at the course...went thru normal procedure ..insert key....turn to N..hear brake coming off...turn key to F...hear click and away we go.. no problem..
Parked it a clubroom and turned the key to OFF..left key in switch....ready to go.turned key to N...then F...no go..but reverse buzzer sounding
After a few tries of back to off etc it finally went with no problems around the course reversing etc..
Would it be possible that when I turned the key to OFF and left the key in..it did not go all the way to OFF but was still touching R contact

Since last post above.. I have found my question is not easy to answer...I have discovered before the cart will go it has to pass a component check.. when the key is turned to N..

Thanks to usgicollector and kernal who gave the full start up check sequence...so now each component can be checked when it will not go...thanks
