36v to 48v upgrade
I have a completely stock 2000 ez go electric cart. 36v. What do I need to do to upgrade to a 48 volt? Will I need a new battery charger? Also I need all new cable for my existing set-up (If I decide to keep it), would it be worth going to 4 gauge wires. ( I have never worked on electric golf carts and don't know much about them).
Thanks for any help. I know it takes time to answer, and it is appreciated!! -Joe |

Re: 36v to 48v upgrade
I just changed the batteries on my 48 volt over to 8volts and bought a Diversified Power Int'l new charger (48V) for it... works quite well - plus I got the bag well area back to use as storage - all while lightening the cart by the weight of 2 batteries.
DPI may be a less expensive route for a 48v charger than some of the other options. |

ScottyB, you know I can find used stuff all day. Somedays takes some serious scrounging though to make sure "used" still means "works."
