Here is a link to the lift I have, its the first one on the page, Lift - 100

http://www.rhox.us/lift-kits/e-z-go-lift-kits/

Only thing I had to change was the wheel bearings and spindle nuts. The factory Ruff and Tuff bearings wont fit this spindle.

Cool, that's what I figured, pre-2001. This is the best R&T thread in a long time!

Are the controllers programable?? I may have to look into that. Mike's (my neighbor) has so much re-gen braking it's not even funny. If you lef off the pedal, it will nearly throw you through the windshield!

He has had Energizer (Sam's) batteries in his since 08 with no problems. There are mixed opinions, but they seem to do the trick. I've tested the entire pack and all are still in great shape.

I have the original sealed batteries and when I asked the cart shop about new batteries, he suggested I go with the "normal" golf cart battery. Told me the brand name but I cant remember. He said the sealed batteries suck and when one goes bad it will shut you down right on the spot. The other batteries would just decrease speed and power but would still get you further down the road. He said all he would have to do is reprogram the controller for those batteries and all is good.

I agree, stick to a regular lead acid battery. US Battery, Trojan, Crown, all good stuff. If budget is an issue, go with the Sam's Club (I think they carry the Duracell name currently). They should do fine as long as you maintain them properly. There are several of the guys on this site that have been here for a long time that have used them with success.

You're looking about a $200 difference with the "cheapo" Sams batteries.

Any more info on programming the controller?

I understand about programming a Delta-Q CHARGER (or similar) for different battery types, but have not heard of programming a CONTROLLER for this.

When I put it in forward and press the accelerator it attempts to take off then shuts off. I did notice when this happens, the lights on my F&R switch and battery meter go out. When I put it in reverse, sometimes it goes slowly and sometimes it does the same thing as forward. I know most of you by reading through some of the threads suggest staying away from Ruff and Tuff, just hoping I can get the technical knowledge I need from you gurus! I appreciate any help you can give me.
Have you checked battery voltage with vehicle under a load or with pedal depressed coud be bad battery or batteries

I did load test the batteries and found a bad one, ended up just buying all new batteries and then it ran like a champ!
