Guys. I am new to golf carts and don't know squat about batteries which really bothers me. I have a 2009 (made 12/0 R&T Hunter 4x4 with very few miles on it. It appears to have a bad battery (low volts at ~7.2V as opposed to about 8.4-8.5V on the other 5 batts). I would like to replace just one battery (Discover EV805A battery that is supposed to be 230A) but hear that Discovery batts are crap and very expensive (been quoted ~$450 for one batt). I would consider changing batteries to another type, but don't know if charger will work, or now I hear something in this thread about controller not working? how do you reprogram these things. I live on the Eastern Shore of MD and we don't have any really knowledgeable folks here on this stuff. Help is greatly appreciated.
Jeff

Jeffjohnson1 here again guys. I have noted that there are no posts in response to my last post and guess guys are not active any more on this site. My question has to do with batteries. I now have the original Discovery 8v AGM batteries and have at least one bad battery. I would consider changing entire pack if appropriate. However, 8v batteries are hard to find. Does a 48v cart have to use 6 of the 8v batteries or can any combination that makes 48v work (by this I mean 4 x 12v batts or 8 x 6v batts)? My charger is a Delta-Q QuiQ charger that is programmable and has several profiles in it. Some appear to be for 12v batteries. Is this true? Can anyone help with my battery questions?
Thanks,

What cart do you have? It is best to replace all batts at the same time. 8v batts can be found at any battery shop (like Interstate for example)
