2007 Club Car DS - stopped running suddenly

Hi folks,
Have a 2007 Club Car with the FE290 engine, have owned for about 18 months with no issues. My wife was riding it on the road at the beach the other day (had been driving it for at least 20 minutes), and stopped at a pedestrian intersection to let people cross. She hit the gas, and nothing. Called me and we ended up having it towed back to the house.

Symptoms are the following:
--Fuel supply looks ok (fuel in the inline filter bowls)
--Battery charge looks good (12.60v), and just last week tested while running to ensure that it was being charged while engine was running (had a faulty voltage regulator on our 2004 Club Car that I replaced a while back)
--Only saw a couple of fuses to check (including 10A inside fusebox, both look fine)
--In maintenance mode, when I step on gas pedal you can actually hear an audible 'click' from what I believe to be the solenoid...however the engine does absolutely nothing (doesn't attempt to turn over at all)
--When stepping on the gas pedal, voltmeter shows the voltage drop from 12.60 down to 12.45 or so...therefore it's certainly trying to do something, but no dice.

Admittedly, not a mechanic but I did want to see if you all had any suggestions from your experience that this might be something simple? Considering that it was running just fine and suddenly would not run at all after simply stopping, my guess (and hope) is that it might be something fairly simple that I can replace myself.
