Default wont start after sitting

I have a 1998 EZ GO 4 cycle after sitting for a couple weeks it will not start it turns over and is firing.I can install anew carb and it will start and run fine then let it sit a couple weeks it will not start note the valves have been adjusted and it has good comp.

Check the oil and see if it smells like gas.

I bet the carb you got was junk, see if it has a name like 'Mokini' instead of the correct 'Mikuni' on the side. Engine is likely flooding since floats on the aftermarket crap don't seat properly.

And NEVER use Ethanol gas. That stuff ruins more carburetors than i can count!

First, clean out the OEM carb really well. If you threw it out, you can get an OEM carb directly from ezgo for around $180. Aftermarket carbs are junk and frequently cause more problems than they fix.

Second, drain and clean your gas tank and put fresh gas in it. If you dont drive it that often I wouldn't keep much gas in it, a gallon of gas goes a very long way in these. And either use some stabilizer, non-ethanol gas, or both.

I personally dont have a problem with ethanol gas. But nothing I have ever sits except maybe my generator. And on that I'll run it with the fuel shut off until the carb bowl is empty, and drain the tank. Everything else gets used weekly, if not daily.

how old is your gas in it

may be a good idea to drain everything and start fresh
