Can you replace burned out LED headlight bulbs/board?
My led headlights are burning out...one is completely burned out and the other has only 3 of the 10 leds working. I am wondering if I can replace just the LED bulbs/board vs. buying a whole new headlight?
If so, where can I buy them and is it significantly cheaper? If not, where is the best place to buy just the replacement headlights vs. the entire kit? I am only seeing the entire kit on Amazon for roughly $180. See pics below for my current light with 7/10 bulbs burned out and the led bulbs/board. Any information will be much appreciated! First check your charging system and make sure it's not putting out 18v.
You could have a bad battery, or bad regulator causing them to burn out. |

Those are just surface mount LED's so easy to replace. Just touch the tabs to melt the solder that is there and they should pop right off. I'd remove one, should be some kind of marking on it as to manufacturer, part number, etc. Match it up on digikey or mouser.
Of if they're just cheap crappy LED's and ot being blown by overcharging as FT suggested, maybe upgrade to a better quality LED |

Re: Can you replace burned out LED headlight bulbs/board?
Thanks for responding! Since I was hoping for a quick fix, I ended up purchasing a full replacement kit. Saw some replacements that just sold the headlights, but they were only $15 cheaper, so I just bought the whole kit and will have backup taillights when needed. I will definitely confirm charging system is pushing 12v upon replacement.
