1983 ezgo driven clutch noise or ?
I have an 83 gas ezgo the engine starts first time every time and runs out great, but at higher speeds I have a harsh winning sound that I think is coming from the driven clutch area, The driven does not appear to have any movement like a bushing out its just like when the governor kicks in I get the noise. The drive clutch went out so I just replaced it and both belts and everything is adjusted to specs. I am not sur what the clutch should do when the governor detects the engine is going to fast. Is this noise common or is there something I should look for to correct the problem?

As far as how your governor works, there's a thinger that rides against the dustcover of the driven clutch. When the driven clutch comes out far enough, the thinger has a cable attached to it that runs to your throttle and pulls it back so you don't over rev it.As for the noise, I really have no idea.
