Default 1988 main jet size and oil ratio

I am putting pack together a 1988 ezgo marathon gas cart. It looks like some one had put a different main jet in. They ground it down to fit in bowl screw. It had roughly a 32 main. then a buddy of mine drilled it to a 60.

I have not been able to find a jet to buy. If I could find out jet size I can make my own.

I have the mukuni bv 24 carb. any help would be great.

Also doing away with oil pump, what mix ratio should I use.

Thanks Ray

Most people here will suggest 125:1 for an oil ratio. I run mine at 100:1 since I like a little smoke. You might have better luck buying a used carb and getting the jet from it. There are plenty of cart salvage yards where you can get one on the cheap.

The production spec for the BV 24 carburetor was a main jet of 92.5 The manual however does allow some fine tuning based on altitude and temperature. If you would like to come back with the lowest altitude and temperature that you will run the engine at I can look up the jet size (although I wonder if it will really make that much difference).

The fuel ratio according to EZGO is 128:1 which makes life easy as it is 1 ounce oil to 1 gallon fuel. You should be aware that it is not sufficient to simply pour oil into the fuel tank. You should should pour the oil into a gas canister and shake it vigorously to ensure a mix.
