Default Linkage Adjustment

I have a 1997 EZ-GO gas, it seems that my throddle linkage is out of adjustment. The cart purges when I step on the gas, and it backfires at low speed. Is there a certain length for the rod from the carb to the governor. The manuel doesn't help. Thanks, Walt

I still don't understand, what does that have to do with the length of the throttle rod.

Try adjusting it as long as you can and still be able to hook it back up and sometimes back firing is caused by the throttle plate not closing all the way when you let up.

Sounds more like carb issue...change fuel filter and clean the carb.

Thanks Kudaman, does the carb need to be clean every year?

Not necessarily. Depends on how much driving you do. I haven't had to clean mine and i have had it for two years. I drive it almost every day. Park it most of the winter but will take it for quick spins in the snow.

It might if you leave untreated gas sitting in it for weeks at a time, the gas this day and time really sucks!!!!!
