Cool First golf cart-89 Marathon

Just purchased my first golf cart. It is a 89 Marathon with a 2 cycle engine. I am so new to this, I don't even know what the size of the engine is. I just know it is going to need to be re-built (only 50 psi compression). I am in the process of just cleaning up the engine compartment and re-wiring. Most of the electricial components had been removed and lost, so I am starting out with all new. I am sure I will have questions as this project proceeds, thanks in advance. I am an old charter captain on lake Erie and this is something to do during the winter while the fish are asleep. Have a great day to all.

There are plenty of guys here proficient in 2 stroke rebuilding who can help......they will be along shortly.

welcome brother , I also have an 89 to rebuild this winter , may be luckier than you tho , the previous guy had already bought all new switches then got lost wiring them back up , most of it is there just not going to the right place ,,, hope you don't have to pull the starter/ gen they are much trouble to get out/in .

No, fish don't hibernate. That was me just trying to be funny. The only thing that hibernates around here, is ME. Question, my 89 has automatic oil injection. If I want to eliminate it, what is the ratio of oil to gas that I should use?

This is also the same as I have always heard. severe running condition use 1.5 per gal, normal light duty use 1 per gal.
