Tire size?
Can an 11 hp engine handle a 25" tire? I am going to be getting a big block but it wont be for a while. So in the meantime I would like to know if my engine can handle 25's and what upgrades I can make if any to make it easier on the engine for the time being. Any suggestions or opinions welcome. Thanks,
Matt |

Re: Tire size?
25" tires will work but they are about as big as you should go with a stock engine IMO. You could loose some top end speed, depends on which tires you have. The weight of tthe tire has a big effect on turning them with limited horse power. Low end power shouldn't be a big issue, a shorter belt works wonders with the big tires

Re: Tire size?
Thanks ruredy, do you know of any engine mods that might help as well. I am trying not to spend a whole lot on it since I will be going bigger, but anything in the mean time would help.

Re: Tire size?
Put the head off a 295 on it, it'll bump up the compression giving you more hp.

Re: Tire size?
It just so happens that I have one sitting in my garage right now. Do you have a link to anyone that has done this already? And what size belt should I get? Sorry for all the questions.

Re: Tire size?
Just to provide a comparison - I've got 24" tires with a 6" A-arm lift and can do about 25mph with the stock 11hp engine. When I get in the mud or loose sand while carying another adult passenger it gets a bit scarry but other than that it runs pretty good.

Re: Tire size?
Thanks for the input guys, I would still be interested in a link to any one that has done a head swap for the 11 hp.

Re: Tire size?
Shorter belt for the Ezgo, I think ruredy will confirm, just get the 2 stroke belt for the 4 stroke cart to increase torque.
