Re: serial number question
On the one that you just sent me it shows the serial numbers. If I was to use the last six numbers of the code that was on the engine it would be an 1981 model.
S215-031426 (motor number) is that number and it would fall right into the J10-030101 to 049999 serial number Well hopefully like you said the guy (Dave) that will know if that is correct or not! The main reason for this is i'm trying to get new brake shoes for this and it makes a diffrence from 81 to 82. J10-000101 to J10-007704 = 1979 J14-000101 to J14-099999 J10-007705 to J10-029999 = 1980 J14-100101 to J14-019999 J10-030101 to J10-049999 = 1981 J22-000101 to J22-099999 J17-000101 to J17-029999 = 1982 J26-000101 to J26-099999 J24-000101 to J24-029999 = 1983 J36-000101 to J36-009999 J31-000101 to J31-099999 = 1984 J36-010101 to J36-019999 J31-100101 to J31-139999 = 1985 J36-011212 to J36-?????? J31-140101 to J31-149550 = 1986 J31-149551 to J31-153969 = 1987 J31-153970 to J31-?????? = 1988 thanks, Brock |

Re: serial number question
After looking closer at the brake shoe itself it does have a J10 on it. Would that be the code?

Re: serial number question
Your serial number could be one more place, lift the rear body, were the upper rear shocks mount (main frame tube runs sideway's) the serial# could be stamped on the frame tube between the shocks. Would start J10-. Since your brake shoes are stamped J10, your cart is a 1979 thru 1981, but still good to know exact serial# to get the right parts you may need later. They do change sometimes. Good luck (the guy?) Dave

Re: serial number question
No worries, for some reason TheNewGuy think's I know something about Yamaha's. I'm actually on a computer in the ward, they told me if I took my meds, I could use this thing. What's a Yamaha? TheNewGuy, did "YOU" take your meds today? Mine are purple?

Re: serial number question
Well after looking everywhere that I have been told and every possible spot on this golf cart i'm thinking I need to take some meds! I looked between the shocks and nothing there either. It does say special edition on the side not sure if that was a common occurance every year? I think i'm going to give up on finding the model number and hope i get the correct parts! Thanks for all your help on this.

Re: serial number question
Attached are a couple of pictures taken of my cart. I can try and get some better ones if you need ones farther away. No harm at all on the meds. I took it as joke the whole time. I appreciate all the help everyone on buggiesgonewild has been! I know I will be spending way to much time on this site now!

Re: serial number question
Good looking cart Definatly a 1979 or 1980. It has steel inner rear fenders and old style J10 solenoids. The serial # should be on the frame tube right behind the air cleaner assy. Thanks for the pictures.
