g1 help finding right solenoid
I have a 1981 g1 in which the solenoid works in reverse but not forward. The solenoid on mine is the old square top style and I ordered the repair kit for the old square top style and it was for a 1982 model. I can't find a solenoid anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions. This is my first cart.

I remember seeing a post about someone modifying the later round solenoids to replace the old square ones. I can't seem to find it now.

Try parts 4 carts . com they are a used cart parts dealer in alabama. I have used them
before. |

NIvel shows a G1 12v solenoid for 82 & up. It is a six post. # 1140 and OEM #J17-81950-0100 I do not see one listed for 1981? perhaps this will work? It looks like that is the one you got the rebuild kit for, too.

I have the same problem and I'm going to look at a golf cart junkyard on Wednesday. I'll post if they have some.
