Default 16hp clone / driven Clutch

Just wondering if anyone can help me make a decision.
I have a g9 that I just put a 16HP clone motor in. I was going to get a torque kit from plowmans or somewhere. I have a CVtech cluth on the engine but the driven clutch is completely stock. I read a post about keeping the stock spring, is that what you recommend? Also is the Sheave on a torqe kit different from stock, or is it pretty much the spring that makes the difference?

I have to get a new Sheave because I have hole wore right through mine. Should I just order a stock driven clutch? or should I get a torque kit and just use the Original spring?
I have stock tire on right now but plan on getting 22 inchers later.
Thanks for any help

Shouldn't really need a torque spring with the 16hp engine. It should provide plenty of torque. You definitely need to replace the sheave if it has a hole in it. I would just go back with a stock one instead of the milled one in the kit. I would definitely replace the c-clip with a spacer as well.

c-clip with a spacer?? Please explain. I haven't had the driven clutch off yet.

When you take the driven clutch off you will see a c-clip on the shaft. Replace it with a spacer as the C-clip can rust/fail. When I put my torque kit in mine was almost gone.

Lets see pics of your build. I am thinking of doing it myself.

Replace the c-clip with the spacer. The c-clips break and a bad design in my opinion. Take the c-clip off and throw it as far as you can or make a fishing leur out of it. That's about all they are good for.

I hate them things! The break off and the unfamiliar owner has no idea what the heck is going on with the perfomance of their cart.

Okay-- so I'm getting the idea that no one likes the c clip. Where can I get a spacer? And are we all agreeing that I should buy a stock sheave to replace the wore one, instead of buying a torque enhancing sheave? I'll get some pics tonight and post them.

you can get one as a part from a power kit, (driven clutch kit) from a site sponcer. you only need the spacer.
