Little high for a stock 96 model. This cart should be in the $1500 to $1800 price range.

Well it has 4 inch lift 20 in new tires. New clutch, lights and new rear seat. Still might be a little high.

Like the guys said, it could be just be valve adjustment's. However, all the engines that I've seen, or rebuilt myself are just as quiet if not more so. You have to figure on a rebuild all of the sloppy parts get replaced(bearings, piston, rings, wrist pin,seals.........). I would check out a couple more.

Not a bad/good price. Get a stethascope or a 1/4 inch rod and hold it to your ear to see where the tick is coming from. he may have set the valves before running it and the valve train has now set in.

I dunno. Sounds like this guy is asking top dollar for this buggy. He supposedly rebuilt the engine and it has a funny noise. If I was serious about buying it, I would put a mechanic's stethascope on it to listen closer. But that's just me. It may just need a valve readjustment or it may be something more serious. I would want to know before plunking down my money. Lotta hackers and scammers out there. If the seller balks, time to walk away.

When someone says "rebuilt" It doesn't mean it was done correctly with new parts. A lot of people put rings in them and think they're like new. If it makes noise, something isn't right. It could be a valve or a rod.

I also have a G9 with a tapping engine. I rebuilt it 2 times, 5 years ago trying to get rid of the tapping. I found out that the balancer hole in the block is out of round and causing the tapping. I went ahead and put it together again and have been using it for 5 years with no problems whatsoever. I have the governor nut turned in all the way, I use only synthetic oil, I change it once a year, it does not use oil and the tapping has not changed. It runs about 25MPH. No problems so far!! If you want to get rid of the tapping, you may want to take it apart and have a machine shop measure the holes in the block and side case to see if any are out of round and if they maybe could make a bushing for it, or use synthetic oil (real synthetic oil) and use it as long as it will last. I hope this helps.
