Re: yamaha g16 secondary clutch
Welcome! Can you post pic's of the primary and secondary clutchs? Maybe your primary clutch rollers have flat spots and the weight is stuck. Good luck

Re: yamaha g16 secondary clutch
Thanks for all your replys, i can not post a picture as its at the golf club and i am waiting for someone to fix it, its still on the cart, its making a a loud noise when it goes as well as jerking when i slow down and you have to put your foot right down on the pedal to go, do you think it is the secondary clutch ? the guy that looked at it took the belt off and jacked it up a it did not make a noise when running and he said thats what it was any help please as i have polio and can not play golf without it thanks Dave

Re: yamaha g16 secondary clutch
Welcome to BGW! May have a worn out bushing in the secondary clutch sheave and the sheave is stuck and slanted on the drive axle.
Sounds more like a broken arm in the drive clutch though. |

Re: yamaha g16 secondary clutch
Trying to get the primary or secondary (on trans) off? I always use an impact on the primary as its hard to hold the engine from turning, there is a special tool to hold it or find a big strap wrench. That big bolt is pretty tight. The secondary you can put the cart brakes on in gear and it helps some, if you hold it with gloves on you can usually get it loose with a wrench. The you need a puller for either of them, you can knock the secondary off with a rod and 3lb if you do it right, but never hit or place any tool on the sheaves you will bend or break them easily. You can only use the hub with a puller or strike the secondary between the ramps with the right tools so as not to mess it up much.
