Purchasing Prcedent Gasser Questions
Hi all,
I'm new here and know very little about golf carts. I am hoping some of you can answer some newbie questions. The wife and I were planning to drive over and look at a 2007 Precedent gasser this morning, but it snowed last night. So, maybe we will go Monday. So, can anyone tell me what to look for when buying a used golf cart? I think I should look at the tires and probably do a test drive to see if there is any vibration and if the steering is tight. Probably ought to look for any smoke out the tail pipe. This machine is supposed to have a FE350 engine. Is that good? Other than that we will probably take a look at the over all condition of the body. Is there anything else I should ask about or look for? I don't think they come with an hour meter so I don't know how to tell about how much use it had. It supposedly came off a northern Michigan golf course last season. Any info you can provide would help. Thanks in advance. Ed |

Re: Purchasing Prcedent Gasser Questions
Make sure the brakes are tight, that is shifts from forward to neutral to reverse with no binding or grinding. The FE350 is a fantastic motor my wifes club car limo has one in it and it's got power to spare. Should be a great little cart if the price is right of course. Good luck drive safe and post pics when/if you get it.

Re: Purchasing Prcedent Gasser Questions
don,t over pay for it some people think they worth there weight in gold...............listen for clutch noises.....check for clutch belt wear ( its the larger of the 2 belts ) feel how it pulls out from a stop....smooth or jerky.....look at the engine see if it is clean or not, that just gives an idea how it was maintained................look for any wires hanging around and take it for at least a 5 minute ride of stop and go driving...........and most important don,t overpay for it.......if your unsure safest bet is to pass on it................................
