Default 84 gas cc spits & sputters

84 gas cc with KF82 -341cc flathead spits and sputters at takeoff. It will run but rough. Any more suggestions? The things I have done so far are below.....and YES...I have taken the carb apart twice and cleaned jets, holes, bowls thoroughly, inspected and put back together. Have fuel and have spark.

-Carb cleaned twice
-Removed gas from tank - fresh in
-New fuel filters
-New electric fuel pump...getting good gas
-Fresh plug....getting good spark
-Pulled flywheel to inspect wires to igniter (Wore bare spot on one last year and was doing the same thing was reason for checking)
-Exhaust is free and clear
-Vent tubes are clear
-Changed oil and refilled
-Checked wires here and there....don't seem to be grounding out anywhere
-New air filter....checked for air leaks

have you pulled the plug to see what it looks like? color? if its all black and sooty it could be the elec fuel pump giving to much fuel.......i,ll say it again sometimes they work great on the cart other times they do just what yours is doing...your plug will tell the tale.........can i ask why you didn,t go with the vaccume pump that it calls for?.......................................

Thanks Shadowman. Plug is good color and I have tried a hot one and a colder one. No change. The 1984 DS came stock with an electric fuel pump. See scan from my manual below.

Has the cart ever run 100% for you since you got it? Or is this a new development? I was just thinking that there must be a reason Club Car scrapped the electric fuel pump system, maybe your issue isn't that uncommon.

It sounds like your engine could be running too rich. One thing off the top of my head I thought to try would be to bypass the fuel pump and try putting some fuel in a small container and try gravity-feeding it to the carb, then running the motor in maintenance mode. But I'm not sure if a gravity feed would be enough pressure to run it, maybe someone else can tell me if that would be worth a try.

Or maybe just try a new carb if you've already been through yours several times.

This is a new development. It started two weeks ago. Cart has run well up to that point. It has a new carb I put on it last spring. Might try the gravity feed system, but not sure that will work.

hum.. idk if its possible but take of the electric fuel pump and put the fuel line straight up to where it connects to the engine and then have someone hold up the tank and the if the gravity thing will work. put only a little gas in the tank so it isnt heavy

does your cart have that stupid rpm limiter box bolted to your ignition coil? that limiter box can cause all kinds of problems
