Club car coil options
Hey guys
I was wondering if there are any other coil options for an 1988 gas club car with the kf82 (fz340) I'm new to carts so any insight on this would be much appreciated |

Re: Club car coil options
I'd like to know this as well. I've seen certain retailers sell a coil for 1990-91 Club Cars, which have the same exact KF82 motor as the 1984-89 Club Cars. I think it has something to do with the rev limiter but I'm not sure. Maybe if you run the newer coil you won't have a rev limiter? I've been wondering what the story is on this for awhile now but nobody seems to know for sure.

Re: Club car coil options
I read some posts on another forum about converting it to an older HEI GM system but it wasn't very clear.

Re: Club car coil options
That's a new one to me. How anyone can easily convert a one-cylinder Club Car magneto ignition system over to a multiple-cylinder electronic automotive ignition system (?) is beyond me. Do you have a link? I'd like to see this.

Re: Club car coil options
Sorry ive been out of town for a while, its on *********** forum. If you search hei conversion there is a ton of stuff on there aout it. BUT it didnt work on mine, in fact I ended up burning up my original coil trying to get creative. So im still looking for the entire ignition system for this, i beleive i found the exciter assy from a link SpringBok posted on another thread so now i just need the coil. Anybody got one or know where I can get one fairly priced

Re: Club car coil options
If you can get the exciter coil from that one guy I posted, why not just ask him for the ignition coil too? Doesn't sound like he'll need it.
