Default loses power up hill

I have a 1996 E-Z GO txt gas powerd 2 stroke that loses power up hills. If ridin with a friend they have to get off and walk up.other wise it runs perty good.what can i do to improve this prob. thank U Nancy

I'm 99.9% sure Ezgo didn't make TXT carts with 2 strokes in them (2 stroke=1 spark plug, 4 strokes have 2) so if you have one, someone probably stuck a 2 stroke in it.
My guess would be that it's a belt or clutch issue, placement of the engine is critical to having your CVT work properly. If the belt is to long it will cause the problems you decribe. If someone has put an engine in the cart (other than the right one) it's more than likely not in the same place as the factory one. Moving the engine closer to the rear will make the belt to long. Of course it could also be any number of other problems.
It's real hard to say because nothing like that exists. If you post pics of it maybe we could be of more help
