If you can steer me I can shop.

I took my seats for my carryall 272 to a local shop only to find out I could buy replacement seats cheaper from my local tractor supply store.
With the molded seats there is not a good way to attach a durable covering to the old coverings.
My new seats bolted right up to the base plate, and I did replace the bolts, because of different threads on the new seats. They were a multi use seat, and drilled, and tapped in several bolt configurations.
I hope this helps.
I attached the old seat to a base, and some casters, and now have work seats for my shop.
This worked out great for working on brake jobs, or just scooting around the shop.
I don't mind getting grease, or oil on the old seats either.
Good luck,
Dean
