Default Backfiring on a ST2+2

I am trying to stop backfiring through the carbeurator when I come to a stop. I have a 2006 ST2+2 with a Subaru engine. Can someone tell me how to adjust the carb. to stop this? Thank you.

Default Re: Backfiring on a ST2+2

problem is your carb isn't fully closed when the ignition shuts off. you can add slack to the cables going to the gov. or the linkage/cable going to the carb. not exactly sure which setup your cart has. This normally happens when you adjust the governor for more speed.
