No, No the OBC controls the CC charger. The charger is not mounted on the cart. It is a separate unit.

Re: 4 awg vs 2 awg cables
I bought the cable 35 ft , solder slugs , 5/16 Lugs , and shrink tube for under a $100.00. I had to make my own (2)1/8 hole lugs for the f/r switch because I could not find them at the time

the 2ga cable will not fit though the hole . Scottyb at carts unlimited sells a bolt kit (or make your own) for this so you can attach 2ga on both sides of the obc |

Re: 4 awg vs 2 awg cables
His cart is being converted from 36 to 48v (see original post). His cart never had an OBC - it was born without one. If he hasn't already, he'll need to purchase a smart charger (with crows-foot connector) to charge; when the 48v conversion is complete.

I'm close to a Grainger. Which of these would be the best choice?

Re: 4 awg vs 2 awg cables
I've never built my own (come to think of it, mine are more than 5 years old - guess I should be adding a new set to my "budget" one of these days) - but those who have done series carts generally seem to favor welding cable because of the higher copper strand -count and flexibility.

Re: 4 awg vs 2 awg cables
I do have a fairly new Lestronic charger. So I'm good then, I don't need to worry about the OBC?
It looks like the welding cable has more capacity. |
