How Many Feet Of Cable For Upgrade
Got a 48V 96 DS, going to upgrade cables. Making my own, I have plenty of lugs,
but need to buy cable. Can one of you guys who have done a cable upgrade tell me how many feet of cable it takes? Thanks, Muddog |

Re: How Many Feet Of Cable For Upgrade
By my calculations 15' should be enough....what size cable? One of the issues is that larger cable won't go through the OBC...that is the main negative cable and if your cable size won't go through the OBC then you have to buy an adapter stud to accommodate the bigger cable.

my 2000 48 volt series cart , battery cables, F/R switch and everything else 29' . I turned 3 of my batteries around so all my cables run on the outside.

That's the way my cables are routed also. Much better and saves cable.

Re: How Many Feet Of Cable For Upgrade
On my 92 conversion I just measured yesterday and came up just over 28' which is right where you are at on yours. To measure, I used one long cable and routed where I wanted, placed a mark, then measured. Probably could have varied a couple of feet either way depending on sweeps, etc.

Do you have a diagram of your upgrade? I bought 15 ft of 4AWG and don't want to waste any . |

Muddog, On my cart there isn't anything much factory left so my lengths may not be close to yours but they do match up to Swan's for his situation. |

Re: How Many Feet Of Cable For Upgrade
Sorry I was thinking of the battery cables but you must have needed controller to motor and F/R switch...so that would take more.
