Those are not golf cart batteries and will never perform properly in one.

Those are indeed cranking batteries, they are not intended for long term loads, just quick bursts of power (for starting). You need to get yourself some deep cycle golf cart batteries.

They are deep cycle marine batteries , isn't that what golf carts use ? First time having a cart

No they use Deep Cycle Commerical/Golf Cart batteries... Deep Cycle Marine battery are hybrid batteries designed for starting motors and low power use from the likes of trolling motors.... Huge difference in how they are built inside.

So thats whats causing my battery light to go off. So should i get 8v or 12v batteries.? Im looking at trojans .

You problem is the type of batteries you have. In fact you are doing really really good to get as much run time as you are getting. You may as well just use them until they will no longer power the cart. Then replace them with good golf cart batteries and install a 12-48 volt reducer. Then you will be able to drive the cart a lot longer and use the lights all you want to.
