How about checking the rocker switch.

Does the solenoid click in both F & R when you try to go?

Do you have a back up buzzer? is it working? Could be the reed switch. We will need some more information before we move forward.

Could not be the reed switch - we are already moving forward.

I need to tell my guy to open the garage door, too much exhaust in the shop, you're right, DOH, I know that. Heck, I still remember the vehicle I learned about the reed switch on years ago. Boy did that thing drive me nuts.

Does the reverse beeper continue sounding when cart stops moving in reverse?
If so, the F/R switch is good and your controller is bad.

There is an ever so slight possibility the motor is having some issues spinning in the reverse direction, so swap the F1 & F1 cables at the controller. --- The cart should now run backwards, but fail going forward.

If the controller is bad, it would be a good time to upgrade to an Alltrax XCT48400PDS of larger.

Good results, thanks for all your input. i put the cart in diagostic mode and i got a 1-4 code. this alluded to pedal travel. it asked me to check the ITS and the micro switch.
i checked the gap on the ITS and it was 9/32 and it should be 7/32. i made the change and put all back together and tried it several times and every thing is working fine.
thank you again and this is a good forum and very helpful
