'94 Club Car DS Starting Troubles
I have a '94 DS with the FE 290 Kawasaki. The engine has 1500 hours on it. It usually won't start. Occasionally it starts, usually this only happens when the engine is cold and it runs fine until you let off the gas. Otherwise it will keep cranking until the cows come home but never starts. I just cleaned the carb, replaced the fuel filter, spark plug, and it has fresh oil and fuel. It sparks and gets around 130 psi compression. If you try to start it for a while, you eventually smell gas so it doesn't seem to be a fuel issue. It won't start using starting fluid either. This happened very randomly too. One night it just decided not to start. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm really starting to miss evening rides around the neighborhood.

Re: '94 Club Car DS Starting Troubles
So when you say it just won't start, do you mean it just cranks and the starter just turns? I would check the fuel pump and the fuel lines for the heck of it. Also double check your accelerator cable from the pedal to the carb to make sure nothing is frayed or stretched/broken. That's really all I can think of so far based on what your saying

Re: '94 Club Car DS Starting Troubles
The starter just keeps cranking. I did check the cables but they're pretty tight and seem to be pulling on the carb okay.

It might be the coil. Sometime they do fine until they get hot and start breaking down. Have you tested spark ?

Disconnect the RPM limiter, see if it runs.

94's have an ignitor behind the rev limiter... they also have intermitent failures!
