OEM Voltage Reducer wiring
2016 OEM Stock Club Car Precedent (6) 8V 48V
To my surprise this cart has an “OEM” bucket harness installed & a DC to DC reducer. I am installing a light kit and trying to use this harness and reducer. 1) Reducer wiring – the 48V input side is marked: Ref: photo Blue 48V+, Yellow 48V- Gnd, White Enable 48V+ (What is the function of this White Wire)? 2) This 12 pin connector will not seat all the way to engage the locking tabs, I checked the pins they are all mating is this a common issue? I was going to secure them with a tie-wrap. I did bench check the circuit with a 12V power supply all is good. 3) What is the function of the gray bullet connector from the main harness? Thanks |

Re: OEM Voltage Reducer wiring
Another Question:
I am testing the Voltage Reducer on the bench, I have a solid 48V input but NO 12V output. I have two and they both test bad no output. Is there any special way to test these or I just have two bad one's.???? |

Re: OEM Voltage Reducer wiring
The White wire is a low current "trigger" wire that when it has +48v, the converter turns ON.
Once the converter is ON, the current flows from the +48v Blue wire. The small gray wire with a bullet connector is how the Precedent injects the switched +48v from the key switch into the harness. It needs to be connected to its mating connector. |

Re: OEM Voltage Reducer wiring
I have an OEM harness I installed similar to this setup, anyone know how to get constant power from it to keep my radio memory? Right now I lose it all when I turn the key off. I was going to install a second converter for just the radio, that kept constant power for the memory, and keep the red trigger wire from the radio hooked to the OEM converter so the radio turns on and off with the key but retains the memory. Is there another way to do it utilizing the OEM converter I have installed? if so, id love some insight on what I need and how to do it. Looking at it, I cant figure out how to get constant 12v power from it. All the plugs go directly into harnesses so its all plug and play.
