GE motor getting hot hot
2001 CC DS 48v regen with GE that motor is hot as hell put my hand on it Very hot is that normal I heard they get hot but holy. Also I just had their Stock controller update Done to it and put a high speed magnet on the motor with new brushes new batteries and new solenoid. It gets up to 20 mph no actually saw 21 blip on the screen but then it will cut out. And either slow down to 14-15 mph or sometimes just roll to a stop. I unhooked the speed. Sensor because it wouldn’t go over 14-15 with it hooked up
And the magnet was supposed to get rid of that . Any ideas I heard the controller will cut out if the motor is getting hot???? Thanks in advance |

Re: GE motor getting hot hot
It shouldn't be getting that hot. Are you saying you have a higher amperage upgraded controller?

Re: GE motor getting hot hot
UPDATE: The motor is not getting as hot as I thought 138 degrees in the hottest part of the motor by the brushes. Now I have 3 MCORS for this cart the newest and updated mcor doesn't even bench test good it goes to 10+ ohms wide open the other 2 are the older style they bench test ok 6-8ohms wide open I cant remember but I thought it was supposed to be around 6ohms. My problem is the cart cuts out and slows to either 7 mph or sometimes 14mph which would make sense because this is a 4 post speed magnet and the stock is an 8 post magnet so twice the speed in limp mode. Does the same with speed sensor plugged in or not which blows my mind. I adjusted the foot throttle position down a little so I didn't have the 1" delay pushing the pedal for the solenoid to engage and it seems worse cuts out right away and completely cuts out disengaging solenoid. I am going to adjust it back 1/2 way to see if maybe a happy medium is better but I didn't think that would change anything. I'm starting to think I may have a wire issue. I am going to ohm test the wires from the mcor at the Controller to see if I get different readings. Any other ideas ? thank you
