Default Steering Housing

I broke the Steering Housing Bolts and I can order a new one on line but I don't know how to get the assembly apart on the old one. There is a sealed gear that bolts to the steering wheel that I can not figure out how to get off. I have a 2002 EzGo TXT model cart.

Welcome to bgw. It will help if you tell what year Ezgo you have so they will know which housing you are asking about.

Do you have a picture that will show me how to remove the gear from 63. if you look above 72 that is where the steering housing broke and my replacement part is 56. I can buy the housing but i don't know how to take out the gear.

via, i think there is a seal where you are pointing. under the seal is a snap ring. this holds the gear in. also try down loading the technicians manal that shown at thw top fo the section highlited in gold stars. i think this is the one with a break down of the rack and pinion. i have the manual but get it to just send one page. jim

ok- let me try this
