Default 89 marathon axel

hello everbody, took axel off today , leaf spring, there is a stud thats on the axel with a nut one broke off , the stud goes thru the leaf springs, is it ok without one of them? RUSTED BOLTS. thank you.

Of anything I would causiously do without a bolt on - a piece of the suspension is not one of them. I would get some penetrating oil and beet the bolt out then replace with new.

Are you talking about the locator nut that centers the spring on the spring perch? Pictures would help!!!

yes it is, the braket thats on the axel with the stud has no room for a nut and bolt, theres about 3/4 of bolt left, i can still line the leaf springs up, would it be enough with just the u braket to hold them together?thank you

Like ekgguy said, put up a picture so we can look at it, but it sounds like a locator pin for centering your axle.
