Thanks for the info, The Curtis Controller is a MOSFET type, so you're right there. I'll use the Baking soda formula for sure. One thing that confused me at first was I didn't realize that the motor and field coil are in series. It changes the circuit completely. I believe the controller is bad because when I short M- to B- the wheels turn. All the micro switches and the Solenoid all work. The Throttle varies from 0 to 5K ohm and the throttle voltage varies at the connector when pedal is moved. Looks like the MOSFET’s are blown.
Can anyone tell me the purpose for the A2 connector on the Controller? It doesn’t seem to be necessary.

I can try, A2 was used to absorb energy created by shifting the direction selector before stopping. It is supposed to absorb and dissipate that energy. Aftermarket controls did not have it. Hope this helps more than confuses.

That makes perfect sense, there would be a lot of induced EMF when you reverse direction.
