rabbitreborn,

With the coil now repaired there is a reading of 3.47 v. This is consistent at each connection of the entire coil.

However, the cart still does not have motion from the motor.

Should I reconnect the meter's black probe to the main battery pack ground and test for voltage somewhere else?

3.47 volts means you are losing power somewhere before the coil pack. What is the voltage on each of the large posts on the solenoid, both pedal up and pedal down?

rabbitreborn,

With the key switch off and the F/R in neutral the four readings are:

Pedal up: 1.43v (A) side to F/R control & spring loaded contact.

3. 84v (B) side that drops down to penny sized contacts.

Pedal down: 3.87 (A) side

3.88 (B) side

I checked each position 3 times and always got the same reading.

ok so it would appear it is losing power before the solenoid. I have seen numerous differnet wiring methods... Where is the wire on side A running to? Usually it is either the main 36v battery positive or the bottom post of the F&R switch.

this is interesting because the reason i just joined is im dealing with the same situation with my yamaha 1988 g2, cart was running just fine around the yard and a i was coming into a tight area and mismeasured and bumped a swing set pole. at that point the cart never started again. my battery is fine with volts, my switch on pedal is also fine, i did note that i have 12v going to solinode but nothing coming out of it, would this be a bad solinode??

i did notice on the back of the solinode there is a reset switch that is popped out and when i push it in the cart takes off, is this common?

djbanaszak,

Please be patient as you follow the answers on this thread.

Being new here myself I will likely have difficulty figuring out if the answers are for you or me. I am learning how to communicate on this helpful site as well.

If you have specific questions of your own my understanding is that you will have a better response by starting a thread.

rabbitreborn,

Side (A) the cable goes to the 9 0'clock position and there are no other wires at that connection.

If this info helps...

the 12 o'clock position has F1 cable to motor & one light gage wire to the micro switch in the F/R control.

the 3 o'clock position (opposite of side A/9 o'clock) has the A2 cable to the motor and no other wires at that connection.

the 6 o'clock position has a cable to the positive of the main battery pack & one wire to the common connection of the pedal micro switch.

Would a photo help? I am willing to read up on how and give a try.

DBC, you are correct. Forum etiquette says that djbanaszak is hijacking your thread and he would be best off starting his own thread to ask for help.

ok so we need to check for full pack voltage at the 9 o'clock and the 6 o'clock positions.... Make sure the cart is in forward or you will not get voltage at the 9 o'clock position

I'm heading to bed but I will check in tomorrow morning to see where we are.
