77 3 wheeled golf cart running very slow
Hello all. I have been reading alot of threads on this site and so far, very helpful. I have recently gotten a hold of what I believe to be is a 1977 Ez-Go 3 wheeled 2-stroke golf cart. It was not running when I got at the begining of this year. 2 weeks and it is running but very slow, especially up hills. what I have fixed and replaced, cleaned the gas tank, carb and the fuel pump, replaced fuel lines and filter. The cart starts up with no problems. Just guttless. Any helpfull advise thats not to spendy?

Re: 77 3 wheeled golf cart running very slow
Hello ctown and welcome to the forum. The very first thing you need to test is the compression and this is the most likely cause of your problems. Anything less than 90 psi is an issue.
You should also be aware that parts for the pre 1980 2PG engine are in very short supply and some, such as the crankshaft are no longer available. On a brighter note, if the compression is good we can probably get you going again. Dave |
