Re: G14 problems
Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like it is overful with oil. One quart only. The dip sticks on these can misread. Airbox needs to be completely sealed on these as well. Also, check the plastic spacer between carb and intake to make sure it is not cracked. |

Re: G14 problems
Dip stick shows just under max fill. Ill drain oil out and refill. I think my air filter may be ruined with all that oil and ill have to check the gasket. Thanks

Re: G14 problems
If the crankcase is overfull, which it sounds like it is, it will blow oil back through the pvc and into the airbox. You may also have some oil in the muffler. You need to fill the crankcase with 'one quart' only and run it for a while. If your oil smells like gas, then I'd drain and refill the crankcase with one quart of good oil again after running for a while.

Re: G14 problems
I drained the oil, filled with one quart of new oil, cleaned the air filter box, and cleaned the plug. It still only wants to run when the hose to the air box is unhooked.

Re: G14 problems
Golf carts are finicky about any air leaks in and around the air intake system. Need to check air cannester and gaskets as well as the plastic intake manifold between the carb. and the head (cracked plastic or loose bolts molded into the plastic). Car being able to suck dirty air into the motor, shortens the life of the cart, and increases maint., and thats what golf courses do not want to deal with. So they make it obvious that there is a problem.

Re: G14 problems
I have a G14 that someone overfilled with oil and it did the same thing. I had oil in my carb. I changed the oil (1 qt). cleaned the airbox and it still didn't run right. I installed a new plug and cleaned the carb and now it's running good. It may take a little time to clean the system out from the oil. They usually won't run very well with the hose off and airbox unhooked, unless you pull the choke. Sounds like maybe your choke may be sticking or going shut restricting air. If it runs with the airbox off, then something is restricting the airflow. I hope this helps.
