Just a long shot but it happened to me. Check the air scoop on the other side of side of the engine. Mine got filled up with cockle burrs and leaves and made a lot of noise when riding. At idle it must have not been pulling enough air to pull the debris into the fan and you could not hear it.

I have attached a link to a video of the squealing belt on my 1999 G16 golf cart.
I would appreciate any type of feedback on what possibly could be the problem or if anyone has experienced this squealing noise.

I have scuffed the sheaves to take of the polished shine, replaced the belt with premium grade
check alignment of the clutches and check the wheel bearings and spun the transmission with
an impact wrench and listened for any type of bearing noise. Ran the engine with the belt off.
All is good.

I am completely stumped with this one. I was really hoping for a bad bearing.

Note: in the video I have the wheels and wheel hubs off. All that is spinning are the axles.

I had the same problem on my EZGO. Believe it or not, it wasn't the belt. It was the crank seals. I sprayed some WD40 on them and the squealing stopped. They wouldn't squeak under accel/decel, only steady rpm.

I will try to lube the crank seals. I ran the engine by itself with out the
drive belt on and there was no squealing. May be under a load the seals may start to squeal.
Thanks for your help. I will give it a try.

Did you end up finding the problem? Mine is doing the exact same thing.
