96 txt series motor tests
Does anyone know if it's possible to use the 36 volt system in the cart to hotwire the motor to test it. I've seen posts using 12 volts but no one has anything about 36 volt.Is it possible to use the 12 volt method and just jump from the battery pack to A1 & S2 with jumper between S1 & A2 or will this burn up something?

Re: 96 txt series motor tests
Typically when testing a motor, the rear wheels are off ground so the half ton cart doesn't run over someone or something.
If you connect the 36V battery pack directly to the motor, while the wheels are off the ground, the motor will spin at a RPM much higher than it was designed form, which can ruin the bearings and might harm anyone close enough to stop the the flying fragments, should the armature explode from the centrifugal force. Be safe, use 12V or less. |
