You can get the net weight from the owners manual. My guess with batteries and back seat, just short of 1000 lbs. And 4 250 lb adults, another 1000 lbs. Gross 2000 lbs and you are really overloading it at that point. |

Re: Trailing the cart
I need a slip for DMV, yes. I don't give a ..... how much it weighs!
Gorno thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I do have a local dump nearby, I'll call them too. |

Re: Trailing the cart
Check out Feed Stores and Grain-Plants too.Anywhere that has a Certified-Scale can give you a weight-slip that the DMV will accept. The 3000 lb.-GVW is the Maximum Loaded-Weight:(Cart,Driver,Passengers,Acceesories,Cargo,F uel,etc...)

Re: Trailing the cart
I would go with the grain elevators. They will do it for a few bucks with a print out slip...

I had to get my cart trailer weighed at my local transfer station and got a slip for the inspector and was still free. Just a thought. Whatever works that is convenient is what matters.

Re: Trailing the cart
We are good to go!! No local truck stations and the feed stores don't have printable machines for a weight slip.. but a friend via Facebook recommended a place very close, got the U-Haul truck and trailer rented, ready to go. 5x9 trailer should be fine, right?
I'm counting the days gents!! Wish I could get the plate on the same day.. Apparently title is just step one. edit - BTW the weigh slip is $15 if anyone was curious. |

Re: Trailing the cart
I'll update - not going until the 20th. Trying to trailer it just once as I have to rent truck and trailer.
I did get lucky with the fact that the weigh station is only 4 miles away from DMV, whole trip should be 26 miles total, round trip. Hopefully will be an in and out kinda day.. we'll see. I don't have a AS5 rated windshield, taking a chance there - but the rest is done. more to come! |
