Default Foward&Reverse switch problem....maybe?

I have a 1996 EZGO txt.....I noticed a burning smell coming from under my seat an saw that it was coming from the F&R switch and most of the time the cart will not go in forward or reverse ...any help on what exactly this could be would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Heat is caused by resistance. The switch is the weak link in the system. I would suggest at a minimum replacing the contact studs but most likely you would be better off with a complete new HD switch. The cables may need replacing also.

Should I go back with a stock one or upgrade?

Your FNR is shot. Replace it ASAP! That heat is resistance and the smell of melting plastic will soon become the smell of smoke from the fire under the seat.

I would upgrade for sure. The stock FNR is weak to begin with.

In side by side comparison nobody sells as heavy duty a switch as my custom F&Rs. I produce the HD parts from the highest grade conductors. I assemble and test each switch before it ships. Nobody has burnt up a cartsunlimited F&R yet

Some of you guys sure have tried...

car intermittent problems with FNR connection
sometimes works if I move the lever, then it is fine. Other times it is dead and I have to keep flipping the switch and turning the key, then it works fine again.

What could be the possible problem?
