Default New batteries in winter should i be concerned

I bought a used but nice ezgo 36v golf cart with no batteries. I just bought a set and put them in today, fingers are froze but they are in and charging.
Reading some of these battery posts on how to properly condition a new set has me a bit concerned. If it was warm out it would be one thing but being that this sits out in the shed when its this cold should i minimize my use of it or if i just follow the 80% rule i will be ok.

Keep the new batteries fully charged so they don't freeze. If you get a day where the weather is good enough to run it do so and then recharge, otherwise recharge once a month.
