Advice? 48v conversion cart lags some
I rebuilt a 2007 36v ezgo txt . Upgraded to 500 amp alltrax. Brown top solenoid, New motor. 2 gauge wire. 48V.
I noticed the Cart is weight sensitive. From 1 person to 2 person and up to 4 you can notice a difference. Also I notice it going up small inclines. Nothing major. Sometimes it will just slow down and I have to move the f/r handle just a little and it will take off again. I replaced the f/r cam to a hd F/R cam but should I have replaced the entire assembly? this cart has the f/r lever in-between driver and passenger leg on wall under seat. |

Check to see if the contact lugs on your HD FnR cam are adjustable. If they are,put a bit more tension in them for a better, more complete contact. Then, when you throw the FnR lever from neutral, (centered), to forward or reverse, throw it fully to that side. Poor contact in any portion of your circuit is asking for trouble.

Re: Advice? 48v conversion cart lags some
The tension nut should be run all the way down to the end of the threads, then backed off about 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
IF the F&R fails to make contact you do not have the proper contact tension as previously mentioned. OR the F&R shift linkage is improperly adjusted resulting in misaligned rotary contacts. All electric vehicles are weight sensitive. Perceived power is an equation of torque to weight ratio. It is expected that when you more than double the load (4 passengers on a 2 person golf cart with 30% taller tires) that the motor will have to work harder, consume more amperage for the same task and will slow in rpms under the increased load. |
