Default G9 Gas Issues

I recently purchased a Yamaha G9 and have a list of problems i am hoping some people can help me address:

1. If i stop driving the cart and the motor ends up on the compression stroke, the starter wont turn over the motor because it is way to high of compression. I have to open me seat turn the motor through the compression stroke and then it will crank and start.

2. It blows smoke crazy. You would think this would be rings but the motor has super high compression, which is causing the 1st issue.

3. I have to run on full choke in order to go, i want to get rid of the stock airfilter, and go to a uni air filter. Does anyone know what size drill bit i should drill the main jet in the carb out to?

Thanks

Hook a voltmeter to the battery and check the voltage when trying to start.
Having to use the choke is air lekis in the filter box or plugged jets in a dirty carb.
