48v Charger clicks but no charge
Already did a search. Havnt found an exact match to my symptoms. It is a 00' DS with the club car charger. I tested it on another cart and the charger works fine. So based on my searches I assume it's the OBC. So I followed suggestions for testing the OBC and my results aren't clear. Tripping the yellow fuse holder to negative causes the charger to click the same as it does normally. But it still doesn't begin charging. I also attempted the OBC reset steps and no change. The pack is reading 48.2v and the yellow battery light is on.

Re: 48v Charger clicks but no charge
. . . try this . . it will help determine if OBC is bad . . pay attention to warnings . . this bypasses the OBC . . . if charger turns on and charges, chances are that either OBC is bad or some connection in the OBC charge circuit is bad . .

Re: 48v Charger clicks but no charge
Unplug the charger and place your voltmeter between the + and - on the charger socket, you should read between 36-42v. If you read 0v (no reading), then the SCR inside the OBC is bad.
I read a few folks here had problems with the charger receptacle itself, You have already tested the + and the sense pins by jumping the sense wire to ground and have the relay click in the charger. I would test that the - pin has continuity thru the receptacle to the black wire before I would replace the OBC. |

Sounds like a certain OBC problem... Sergio's test will confirm...

Re: 48v Charger clicks but no charge
That's a good suggestion. So simple I didn't even think to do it. I'll give it a shot. This is the first ds that I've had to deal with the OBC. Is there a way to bypass it and still use the club car charger if it turns out to be bad?
